To ensure your small mammal family member is healthy and lives the most productive life, they should have routine wellness appointments. We know that these pets have specific needs that are far different from other pets. That’s why our exotic pet focused doctors are here to treat all pets with the highest quality of care and medicine.

Rabbits, Ferrets, Guinea Pigs, Hedgehogs, Chinchillas, Rats, Mice, Hamsters, Gerbils, Sugar Gliders, Degus and many more!

How Do Wellness exams work?

First, our team will perform a visual examination to determine your pet’s temperament prior to handling directly. Pocket pets can be stressed from car rides/transport and we want them to have the chance to settle in.

From there we’ll perform a head to tail examination of your pet including:

• Weight

• Head Assessment: eyes, ears, nasal cavity, and oral cavity (particularly those specialized teeth and cheeks).

• Body Assessment: thoracic cavity auscultation, abdomen palpation, skin and hair coat inspection, neurologic health, limb and tail palpation, and urogenital inspection.

• Organ Health: bloodwork, radiographs, ultrasound, and fecal testing all available for routine wellness and for sick pets.
