Dr. Amanda Riesterer received her bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, with a major in Animal Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. Returning to her alma mater, she was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Dr. Riesterer focuses her interests on soft tissue surgery, feline medicine, and low-stress handling. She frequently volunteers her time to perform surgeries for a community animal shelter.
When not working, Dr. Riesterer spends many of her evenings teaching a local high school marching band alongside her husband Bobby. In her actual free time, she enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her family. Dr. Riesterer's favorite pastime is riding and hanging out with her two and a half horses, Black Jack (Paint), Oakley (Appaloosa), and Pompeii (Miniature Horse). She shares her home with three very rambunctious cats, Timber, and the tortie girls: Twix (Left Twix), and Mini (Right Twix).
